Tatjana Jovićević, PhD

Senior Research Associate


Born in Belgrade in 1963 where she graduated from the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, Department for Yugoslav and World Literature and Department for Yugoslav Literature and Serbo-Croatian Language, in April 1988. During her graduate and postgraduate studies, she turned her scholarly interests towards the poetry of Serbian Pre-Romanticism and Romantism, and later towards the questions of popular literature, problems of literary critical thought and patterns of cultural life in those and later epochs.

In 1988 she became an associated researcher of the Institute for Literature and Art, and continued in that position during her postgraduate studies (MA in 1999, PhD in 2006) and academic career, which encompassed employment at the Institute for Political Studies (2000–2003) and the Department for Serbian Literature at the Faculty of Philology and Arts, University of Kragujevac (2003–2009).

Since December 2009, she is a full-time employee at the Institute for Literature and Art, at the project The Role of Serbian Periodicals in the Formation of Literary, Cultural and National Models, as a research associate. Her research interests include literary works published exclusively in periodicals, questions of literary and para-literary genres’ functions, literary thought and cultural policies transmitted through periodicals.
